A number of factors, including excess supply continue to influence coal's forward prices in recent weeks. The coal market is trying for a positive direction, but the current supply and demand balance is seemed to be not supporting for quicker recovery.
Coal supply and demand balance turns negative in recent months, which gives an uncertainty for coal prices. Indonesian coal price reference has also fell for the third month in a row in June. Coal price reference of Indonesia fell this month as International coal indices showed drops last month on higher supplies amid weak demand from coal buyers.
A substantial rally in coal prices would require fundamental factors to align in a right direction.
