KOMIPO ISSUED A TENDER FOR TOTAL 1,560,000 METRIC TONS OF BITUMINOUS COAL
 COALspot.com: South Korea state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued a tender for total 1,560,000 Metric Tons of Bituminous coal for its Boryeong & Shin Boryeong Power Plants
According to the tender, the total quantity of coal to be purchased is 1,560,000 Metric Tons (MT) per three years. The coal shall be shipped at the port of loading in accordance with the following schedule:
Quantity
520,000 MT per annum of min 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal to be loaded in 2021
Delivery Period
CY1: 1st shipment : June, 2021; 2nd shipment : July, 2021 and 3rd~4th shipment: Q2,2021~Q4,2021
CY2: Q1,2022~Q4,2022 Evenly spread
CY3: Q1,2023~Q4,2023 Evenly spread
Quality Specifications (based on ASTM standards)
According to the tender terms, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for Min 5,700 Kcal/kg NAR should not more than 15% and volatile matter (adb) restricted in between min 22% to max 38 %. The total sulfur (arb) of 5700 NAR coal also limited to max 0.7%, calorific value minimum 5700 kcal/kg and Ash (adb) should not more than 17%.
Restrictions:
New bidders are not allowed to attend this tender
Bidders should propose Two(1st and 2nd) shipment for CY1(2021) at one single fixed price
The shipment size must be at least 130,000MT, with a gearless vessel.
Submissions of bids should not later than 10:00Hrs on April 12, 2021 (Korean Standard Time).
