TUAH TURANGGA AGUNG RECORDED 4.54 MILLION TONS OF COAL SALES IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF 2020
 PT United Tractors Tbk through its subsidiary, PT Tuah Turangga Agung recorded 4.54 million tons of coal sales in the first four months of 2020, up 3.46 million tons compared to the same period last year. Based on the United Tractors operational report for the April period, the company sold 1.57 million tons in April 2020, up from the previous month's 1.3 million tons, Dunia Energi reported.
As quoted by Dunia Eneri, Frans Kusuma, President Director of United Tractors, said demand for high-calorie coal is expected to remain stable in 2020, although prices have not yet improved. "The best strategy in conditions of price uncertainty is to be cost efficient in all operational lines," Frans was quoted as saying in the United Tractors annual report.
Coking coal mining will be one of the company's leading portfolios in the future. Continued working to increase market share through marketing strategies and increasing production capacity, said Frans, the media said.
Dunia Energi further noted that, In 2019, Tuah Turangga posted revenue of IDR 10.7 trillion, up 6% compared to the previous year of IDR 10 trillion. The revenue was obtained from the sale of 8.5 million tons of coal, up 21% compared to 2018 of 7 million tons. Of the total coal sales, coking coal accounts for around 14%.
To become a global coal trader, Tuah Turangga formed a strategic partnership by establishing a joint venture company with Itochu, Cipta Coal Trading Pte, Ltd. for coking coal sales in 2018. In 2019, the company formed a partnership with Sumitomo to form AEGIS Energy Trading Pte.Ltd for sales of thermal coal for the export market said Dunia Energi.
