PORT OF NEWCASTLE SHIPPED 10.849 MMT OF COAL IN NOVEMBER DOWN 23.44 PERCENT MOM
 COALspot.com: The Port of Newcastle, Australia’s major trading port and the world’s largest coal export port has shipped A$ 1,574.8 million worth of 10,849,131 tons of coal for the month ended 30 November 2018. The average selling price for month November was around average A$ 145.15 per tons declined approximately 6.51 percent from October average selling price of A$ 155.27per ton.
According to Port’s monthly report, YTD (2018 calendar year to date), the port has shipped A$21,346.6 million worth of 143,788,118 tons of coal. The average selling price YTD was around average A$ 148.45per MT.
Port has shipped 23.44 percent less coal in November compared to its October 2018 loading of 14,171,345 tons.
A$ 1,574.8 million trade value of coal shipped in November 2018 compared to A$ 2,200.5 million in October 2018.
According to operation report posted on port’s website, as of 30 November 2018, the port has served 122 (down 24.22% month on month) ocean going vessels in November and 1,604 vessels January – November this year.
The port’s report further noted that, the Port of Newcastle has shipped coal to Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Caledonia and Taiwan in the month of November 2018.
