KOMIPO'S SEOCHEON POWER PLANT TO IMPORT 240,000 MT OF SEMI / ANTHRACITE COAL FOR Q1'17
 COALspot.com: South Korea state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued a new tender for 240K mt of Semi-Anthracite and Anthracite Coal for its Seocheon Power Plant.
Bidders are requested to offer with a quotation with a fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 160,000 MT of Min 4,600 - Max 6,000 kcal/kg NAR coal for Feb -March 2017 loading and 80,000 MT of Max 6,000 kcal/kg of Semi- Anthracite or Min 4,600~ Max 6,000 kcal/kg of Anthracite coal for Jan 2017 loading on FOBT basis.
According to tender norms, the price should be on FOBT or CFR and KOMIPO reserves the right to award the contract on a FOB basis subject to its evaluation and South African coal is not allowed to supply for January 2017 loading. The tender terms further noted that North Korean and Chinese coals are not allowed attend this tender.
Bidders are requested to offer with a quotation in a fixed price up to a feasible amount of coal in lots of 80,000MT(+/-10%).
Net Calorific Value coal (Min 4,600 - Max 6,000 kcal/kg Anthracite coal)
The tender says, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for Min 4,600 - Max 6,000 kcal/kg NAR coal should not more than 15% and volatile matter (Dry, Mineral-Matter-Free basis) restricted in between 10 – 14%. The total sulfur (arb) of Semi-Anthracite and Anthracite Coal also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 45%.Net Calorific Value coal (Max 6,000 kcal/kg Semi-Anthracite coal)

The tender says, total moisture (as received basis) of coal for Max 6,000 kcal/kg NAR coal should not more than 15% and volatile matter (Air dried basis) restricted in between 13 – 22%. The total sulfur (arb) of Semi-Anthracite also limited to max 1% and Ash (adb) should not more than 28%.
Submissions of bids should not later than November 18, 2016, 14:00 hrs (Korean Standard Time).
The Bid documents can be submitted in person, by mail or courier not later than November 18, 2016 to Mr. Min-Soo Kim, General Manager / Fuel & Resource Team, Smartwork center Seoul Power Plant, Korea Midland Power Company Limited, 56, Tojeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Correction : Read as 160,000 MT of Min 4,600 - Max 6,000 kcal/kg NAR coal for 1Q 2017 loading instead of 160,000 MT of Min 4,600 - Max 6,000 kcal/kg NAR coal for Feb -March 2017.
