INDONESIAN 4200 GAR COAL IS THE MOST ATTRACTIVE COAL IN TODAY'S MARKET - OPINION POLL
“ Which coal type of Indonesian origin do you find the most attractive in today's market?”
The on-line opinion poll conducted by COALspot.com over 31 October to 6 November 2016 involved around 178 coal market participants, with respondents, including (likely) Chinese coal buyers, Indian coal buyers, Southeast Asia Coal Buyers and others, possibly other than Chinese, Indian and Southeast Asian coal buyers.
The poll found that 38.76 percent of participants believed that the Indonesian 4200 GAR coal is the most attractive coal in today's market, versus 11.80 percent who picked "3800 GAR coal". Among the respondents, 21.35 percent of respondents picked the answer “ 5000 GAR coal” while another 28.09 percent says 5700 GAR coal is the most attractive coal for them today.
Total 49.44 percent of participants believed that "5000 GAR and above coals are the most attractive coal in today's market" versus 50.56 per cent respondents say 4200 gar coal and lower calorific value coals are the most attractive coal today.
Chinese Coal Buyers
Some 38.71 percents of likely Chinese coal buyers or coal exporters to China say “5700 GAR coal is today’s attractive coal" and another 32.26 per cent of Chinese coal buyers say that 4200 GAR coal of Indonesian origin is attracting Chinese buyers.
Some 12.90 percent of likely Chinese coal buyers picked “3800 GAR“ and 16.13 percent, says “5000 GAR”. Around 31 likely Chinese coal buyers participated in this on-line opinion poll over 31 October to 6 November 2016.
Indian Coal Buyer
Among the likely Indian coal buyers, some 40.35 per cent respondents picked the answer "4200 GAR coal" and only 17.54 per cent buyers say 3800 GAR coal of Indonesian origin is the most attractive coal for them in today's market.
A 21.05 percent of participants representing likely Indian coal buyers say that 5000 GAR and 5700 GAR coals attracting Indian coal buyers compared to other types of Indonesian origin.
Around 57 likely Indian coal buyer participated in this on-line opinion poll.
Southeast Asia Coal Buyers
Among the likely Southeast Asian coal buyers, some 40.74 percent, says "4200 GAR coal of Indonesian origin" is the most attractive coal today compared to other types of coal. While another 33.33 percent of likely Southeast Asian coal buyers say "5000 GAR coal" and 25.93 percent of another set of buyers say 5700 GAR coal is most attractive coal for them.
None of the Southeast Asian coal buyers have selected Indonesian 3800 GAR coal as their favorite coal for today.
Around 27 likely Southeast Asian coal buyers participated in this on-line opinion poll last week.
Among the other coal buyers, some 39.68 per cent say 4200 GAR coal of Indonesian origin is attracting them, while another 30.16 percent says, 5700 GAR coal is in high demand. A small number of Other coal buyers say 3800 GAR coal is attracting them and around 19.05 per cent says 5000 GAR coal is their favorite coal today.
The COALspot opinion poll was conducted online between 31 October 00:01 GMT to 6 November 2016 23:59 GMT.
The latest poll responded by total 178 visitors, 31 who identified themselves as Chinese coal buyers, 57 respondents identified themselves as Indian coal buyers and 27 participants who identified themselves as Southeast Asia Coal Buyers.
Around 63 participants identified themselves as “Others”.
