NOVEMBER NEWCASTLE COAL EXPORTS DECLINED 11.87%; THE AVERAGE PRICE OF COAL EXPORTS ROSE 1.37%
 COALspot.com: The Port of Newcastle, Australia’s major trading ports and the world’s largest coal export port has shipped $1.120 billion worth of 12.365 million tons of coal for the month ended 30 November 2015. The based on available information, the average selling price for month November was around average US$ 90.61 per tons rose approximately 1.37 percent from October 2015 average selling price of US$ 89.38 per ton.
According to Port’s monthly report, YTD (2015 calendar year to date), the port has shipped $12.908 billion worth of 143.290 million tons of coal. The average selling price YTD was around average US$ 90.08 per ton.
Port has shipped 11.87 percent less coal in November compared to its October 2015 loading of 14.032 million tons.
$1.205 billion trade value of coal shipped in November 2015 compared to $1.254 billion in October 2015.
According to operation report posted on port’s website, as of 30 November 2015, the port has served 136 (down 10.52% month on month) ocean going vessels in November and 1540 vessels January – November this year.
The port’s report further noted that, the Port of Newcastle has shipped coal to Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Caledonia and Taiwan in the month of November 2015.
Anglo, Peabody, Rio Tinto and Xstrata are some of the larger coal exporters to ship coal from Newcastle port.
