KOMIPO INVITES BIDS FOR 1.295 MILLION TONS OF BITUMINOUS COAL FOR Q1 - Q2'16
 COALspot.com: South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender for 1,295,000 Metric Tons (MT) of minimum 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal (420k), minimum 5700 kcal/kg NAR coal (375K) and minimum 5300 kcal/kg NAR coal (500K) for Q1-Q2 2016 loading for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 375,000 tons of 5700 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in 2 cape size ships for Jan 2016 loading, the total 500,000 tons of 5300 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in 4 cape size ships for Q1 and Q2 2016 loading and the total 420,000 tons of 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in 6 Panamax size ships for Jan - March 2016 loading on fixed price from Single mine on FOBT basis.
According to tender, Bidders are required to offer for 1st contract year (Jan 2016~June 2016). The Price for the 2nd contract year (July 2016~June 2017) and 3rd contract year (July 2017~June 2018) will be negotiated by mutual agreement.
KOMIPO requires the suppliers to offer coal with the quality such as total moisture (as received basis) max. 28%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 45%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur (as received basis) max 1% and Ash (air dried basis) max 17% for minimum 4,600 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis while requirement for minimum 5,700 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis, the total moisture (as received basis) should not more than 15%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 36%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur(as received basis) max 1.0% and Ash (air dried basis) max 17%.
According to tender terms, the Chinese and Russian coals are not allowed to participate in this tender.
Submissions of bids should not later than 14:00hrs on November 20, 2015 (Korean Standard Time).
