PORT OF NEWCASTLE SHIPPED 13.46 MMT OF COAL IN JULY; UP 0.66 PER CENT M-O-M
 COALspot.com: The Port of Newcastle, Australia’s major trading ports and the world’s largest coal export port, has shipped $1.224 billion worth of 13.461 million tons of coal for the month ended 31 July 2015. The based on available information, the average selling price was around US$ 90.93 per mt in July 2015 declined approximately 1.59 percent from June 2015 average selling price of US$ 92.40 per MT.
According to Port’s monthly report, YTD (2015 calendar year to date), the port has shipped $8.124 billion worth of 90 million tons of coal. The average selling price YTD was around US$ 90.27 per MT.
Port has shipped 0.66 percent more coal in July compared to its June 2015 exports.

According to operation report posted on port’s website, as of 31 July 2015, the port has served 144 (up 2.12% month on month) ocean going vessels in July and 962 vessels January – July this year.
The port’s report further said, Port of Newcastle shipped coal to Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Caledonia and Taiwan in the month of July 2015.
Anglo, Peabody, Rio Tinto and Xstrata are some of the larger coal exporters to ship coal from Newcastle port.
