FREIGHT RATES TO REMAIN SOFT NEXT WEEK
 COALspot.com: The freight market was flat to soft week over week except for the Cape Index which was up 7.32%. Cape index was closed at 616 points on 8 May 2015 up 7.32% compared to a week ago closing.
The Baltic Dry Index fell 2.21% to 574 points week over week.
The panamax index was also fell 8.19% for the same period and closed 594 points. The supramax index was almost at same levels or dropped 0.48%, while the handysize index was dropped 3.23% week over week.
In the Far East/SE Asia the freight rates were steady as supramax charter rates delivery Singapore was around US$ 7,000 per day for a trip via Indonesia to India. In the meantime, Panamax charter rates were steady and ships were rated around US$ 3,000 per day, delivery mid china for a trip via Indonesia to India.
Freight rates are expected to be flat to soft next week.
The average charter rates for Cape reported at around $3418 per day, for Panamax at around $4734 per day , for Supramax $6460 per day and for Handy size $4876 per day.
While, the futures for three years (2015-2017) were reported at around US$ 12,000 per day for Cape, US$ 8,500 per day for Panamax, $8,500 per day for Supramax and $7,500 per day for Handy size.
The S8 route for supramax was soft or fell 4.28% and closed at $5,863 per day (last week $6125 per day). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was firm and was up by 1.80 pct closing at $65.54 per barrel (last week $66.46 per barrel). The bunker prices was firm and closed at $380.50 pmt (IFO 380 CST ex. Singapore on 8th May 2015).
