INDONESIAN COAL OUTPUT SEEN RISING, DESPITE FALL IN ITS PRICE
COALspot.com: Indonesian coal swaps for delivery Q1' 2015 declined month on month and week over week, but Indonesian Coal Output Seen Rising. The country’s coal production keeps growing amid declining global coal prices. Indonesia benchmark price, known as HBA, dropped by around 21 percent last year as demand was slower than the pace of supply growth.
Under the Indnesian government’s strategic long-term plan (RENSTRA), coal production is targeted at 425 million tons in 2015. “However, the total output can hit around 460 million tons,” coal director Bambang Tjahjono said, as quoted by The Jakartra Post.
Higher coal output is expected to result in bigger contributions to the country.
The Q1 swap has fell US$ 1.52 (-3.16%) month on month according to AsiaClear OTC coal swap's reports released on 16 January 2015 , Friday.
FOB Indonesia coal swap
Sub-bit FOB Indonesia coal swap for (average) Q2' 2015 delivery also declined on month and week. The average Q2 swap has lost $ 3.24 (-6.78%) month on month and US$ 1.44 week over week on 16 January 2015, this past week’s SGX data shows. According to available data, FOB Indonesia coal swap for Q2’ 2015 delivery closed at US$ 44.53 per MT on 16 January. Coal future trades were heading South due to lack of demand and supply glut.
Q4' 2015 delivery swap average fall US$ 3.18 (-6.66%) month on month and closed at US$ 44.57. Sub-bit FOB Indonesia coal swaps, as per SGX's data, particularly Q1,Q2 and Q4 '2015 deliveries declined week over week and month over month.
SGX Asia Clear OTC Sub-Bit Indonesia coal Q2' 2015 delivery swap closed US$ 2.00 (-4.30%) lower compared to average Q1' 2015 delivery price of US$ 46.53 on 16 January 2015. The coal swap for Q4' 2015 delivery, closed at average US$ 44.57 or US$ 1.96 (-4.21%) lower compared to Q1' 2015 delivery closing price.
The sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap for Q1' 2015 delivery has achieved a highest price of average US$ 47.12 / MT on 12 January 2015 and has entered its lowest level (US$ 46.53 / MT) on 16 January 2015. (Last update 10:02 GMT+08:00)
