SUB-BIT FOB INDONESIA COAL SWAP INCHES UP DESPITE LOW DEMAND
COALspot.com: Indonesian coal swaps for average Q4’ 2014 increased US$ 0.15 day on day and US$ 0.13 per mt week on week. But, the swap was lost US$ 1.09 month on month according to AsiaClear OTC coal swap's reports released last Friday.
In the meantime, sub-bit FOB Indonesia coal swap for (average) Q1’ 15 deliveries lost US$ 0.95 per mt month on month for the same reported period. The Q1’ 15 swap was closed at US$ 56.18 per MT on 1 August 2014, 0.05 percent higher compared to 25 July 2014 closing.
Q4' 2014 delivery for the sub-bituminous Indonesia's coal swap was closed at US$ 54.83 per mt on 1 August 2014, US$ 1.09 lower than last month (1 July 2014) price and US$ 0.13 higher than a week ago price of US$ 54.70.
Asia Clear OTC Sub-Bit Indonesia coal Q1 2015 delivery swap closed US$ 1.35 (2.46%) higher compared to average Q4’ 2014 delivery price of US$ 56.18 on 1 August 2014. In the meantime, the coal swap for Q2 2015 delivery, closed average US$ 2.64 (4.81%) higher than swap for Q4 2014 delivery for the same reported period.
Coal swap for delivery Q1 2015 on 1 August closed US$ 0.11 higher from previous day closing and lost US$ 0.95 month on month. Q4' 2014 delivery swap also lost month on month, but gained day on day and week on week.
The sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap for Q4’ 2014 delivery has achieved a highest price of US$ 54.83 / MT on 1 August 2014 and has entered its lowest level (US$ 54.68 / MT) on 31 July 2014. This week ended Sub-Bit FOB Indonesia Coal, Q4 14 delivery swap, lost US$ 6.57 per MT or 10.70 percent since 2 January 2014.
Sub-Bituminous Indonesia coal swaps delivery for Q4 2014, Q1 & Q2 2015 were lost month on month.
Recently, the Sarolangun regency administration in Jambi in Sumatera Island has suspended the operations of 10 coal mining companies in line with a circular issued by Regent. Most of the suspended mines are producing low calorific value coal and exporting most of the coal produced from those mines to India.
According to a miner, who’s mine also suspended said that, they have submitted all the required documents and they hope that, the local government will revoke order of mine suspension soon, to enable them to restart the coal production.
