INDO - INDIA SUPRMAX FREIGHT RATES CONTINUED TO DOWN THIS WEEK
 COALspot.com: The freight market was soft this past week as all sectors soften particularly Panamax index was lost 129 points or 12.88% week on week.
The BDI lost around 3.11 pct and closed at 934 points while the Cape index was lost 2.72 pct week on week and closed at 1395 points. The Panamax index which was lost significantly this past week. The Panamax index was closed at 872 points after losing 12.88% from last week closing. The Supramax index was down 4.15 points and closed at 830 points. The Handy size index was almost at same levels from last week closing.
In the Far East/SE Asia the supramax charter rates was soft and were reported fixed at US$ 9,000-10,000 delivery Indonesia for trip to India which indicated that not many cargoes in the market. Panamax rates were also soft this week. Freight rates are expected to be further soft or flat next week.
The average charter rates were at Cape/US$ 9,986 per day , Panamax/US$ 6,993 per day , Supramax/US$ 8,678 per day and Handy size/US$ 7,196 per day.
The futures for three years (2015-2017) were at around Cape/US$ 21,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 12,000 per day, Supramax/US$ 12,000 per day , Handy size/US$ 9500 per day.
The route S8 route was also soft closing at US$ 9,478 per day. Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be flat to soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices firmed was almost at same levels closing at 109.41 barrel (last week US$ 110.36 per barrel). The bunker prices firmed were at same levels and closed at 600.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 30th May 2014).
