FREIGHTS FROM INDONESIA TO INDIA IS EXPECTED TO BE SOFT NEXT WEEK - REDDY
 COALspot.com: The freight market dropped drastically and all sectors were affected severely.
The BDI was down by 14.13 pct and closed at 1,373 points week on week. Cape index saw the biggest drop this week. Cape index was down 15.78 pct and closed 2557 points while the Panamax was down 12.05 pct. The supramax index fell 9.77 pct closed at 1115 points and the handy size index was also dropped 3.71 pct closed 649 points.
In the Far East/SE Asia the charter rates on supramax was soft and most vessels were rating around US$ 14,000 per day passing Singapore. Panamax rate was also soft with the owners rating around US$ 11,000 per day delivery South China. Freight rates expected to be soft next week.
The average charter rates were at Cape/US$ 19,211 per day , Panamax/US$ 7,888 per day , Supramax/US$ 11,659 per day and Handysize/US$ 9,644 per day.
The futures for three years (2014-2016) was at around Cape/US$ 25,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 13,000 per day, Supramax/US$ 13,000 per day and Handysize/US$ 10,500 per day.
The route S8 route softened and was down by 6.69 pct closing at US$ 12,833 per day (last week US$ 13,738 per day ). Freight rates from Indonesia to India is expected to be soft next week.
The Brent crude oil prices was slightly up 1.07 pct and closed at US$ 108.07 per barrel (last week US$ 106.92 per barrel). The bunker prices was steady and closed at 595.00 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 28th March 2014).
