INDONESIAN STATE OWNED COAL MINER HAS EXPORTED 7.02 MILLION TONS OF COAL IN 9 MONTHS
 COALspot.com : PT. Bukit Asam, Indonesian state owned coal miner has sold 13.24 million tons of coal for the period January - September 2013. According to company's statement, the sales volume has rose by 17% compared to the same period in 2012. PTBA has sold 11.36 million tons for first 9 months in 2012.
Out of 13.24 million tons, PTBA has exported totalled 7.02 million tons of coal to its traditional buyers such as Taiwan, India, China, Malaysia Japan and Vietnam.
The company has claimed that, its coal exports in first 9 months in 2013 up 36% compared to the same period last year. According to company's statement, 17% of total exported coal in first 9 months goes to Taiwan 14% to India, 9% to China, 8% to Malaysia, 3% to Japan and 2% to Vietnam.
PTBA's has also supplied 6.22 million tons coal to domestic consumers for the period Jan - Sept 2013. The company has claimed that, the decline in revenue was due to lower selling prices particularly increase in export quantity versus low export price. The company's weighted average selling price for the period Jan - Sept 2013 stood at IDR 612,000 (approximately US$ 56.22) per ton.
PTBA's coal production as well as purchases for first 9 months stood at 13.2 million tons, up 8.2% over the same period in 2012.
The net profit of the company for the period Jan - Sept 2013 accounted to IDR 1.24 trillion (approximately US$ 114,310,618), according to the company's unaudited financial statements as of September 30.
