GBCE APPOINTS BENJAMIN WILEY AS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
 COALspot.com : GB Clean Energy Ltd. (GBCE) announced today that Mr. Benjamin Wiley has been appointed as Managing Director.
Mr. Wiley has been active in investment banking in Indonesia since 1989 and has been closely involved in the coal mining sector over that time. Benjamin Wiley has advised on several of the largest mining-related M&A and IPO transactions involving Indonesian corporations. He joins GBCE from Standard Chartered Bank where he had been a Managing Director and head of the Metals & Mining business for Asia since 2009.
According to company’s note received by COALspot.com, his focus area will be on building the GBCE business in Indonesia.
“I am delighted to welcome Mr. Wiley as the new Managing Director. This appointment reflects our commitment to building a significant position in Indonesia’s coal industry with our coal upgrading technologies. Mr. Wiley brings with him a wealth of expertise and a presence built over many years advising Indonesian coal companies,” said Mr. Steve Chu, the International Vice Chairman of GBCE.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Wiley said:
“I am very excited at the prospect of leading GBCE’s growth in Indonesia. GBCE is the clear leader in the coal upgrading industry globally, having operated commercially on a full industrial scale for a considerable period of time. The company's core strength comes from its depth of in-house R&D and engineering talent. I believe GBCE has the potential to add tremendous value to Indonesia’s low rank coal resources.”
Mr. Wiley will assume his leadership role starting immediately, the company said in its note.

GB Clean Energy develops and operates coal processing plants that upgrade low calorific value ("CV"), high moisture coals into high CV coals. The plants use GBCE’s proprietary LiMax technologies which produce high CV coals that will not re-absorb moisture and are transportable over long distances. GBCE’s plant in Inner Mongolia is the first coal upgrading plant to produce upgraded coals in commercial quantities, supplying power plants and other industrial users in Northern China.
