COAL PRICES REMAIN UNDER PRESSURE
COALspot.com – Coal swaps for the year 2014 indicate that, the pressure on coal prices will continue at least until next year. Average calendar 2014 deliver coal swaps are trading still below Average August 2014 swaps.
Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swaps (FOB ) for average August 2013 delivery slightly fell on day, week and month on Friday, 5 July 2013, according to AsiaClear OTC coal swap's reports. Sub-Bit FOB Indonesia coal swap for average August 2013 delivery was closed at US$ 59.97 per MT US cents 3 lower compared to the same period last week.
DSP of SGX AsiaClear OTC Coal Swaps - Sub-Bit FOB Indonesia Coal
August 2014 deliveries for the sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap was closed at US$ 62.25 per MT on 5 July 2013. Average August 2014 delivery price lost on day and month but gained on week.
The sub-bit Indonesia's coal swaps for Calendar 2014 delivery also followed the trend of August 2014 delivery.

Asia Clear OTC Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swap for average calendar 2014 delivery closed US$ 1.96 (3.26 %) higher compared to average August 2013 delivery price of US$ 59.97 on 5 July 2013. In the meantime, the August 2014 coal swap has closed US$ 2.28 (3.80 %) higher than August 2013 swap for the same period.
This Friday’s the sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap for August 2013 delivery, lost US$ 2.88 (4.58%) compared to the same period last month. August 2014 and Calendar 2014 deliveries also lost US$ 2.85 (4.37%) and US$ 2.90 (4.47%) respectively M-O-M.
Sub-Bit Indonesia coal swap August 2013, 2014 and calendar 2014 deliveries lost on day. August 2014 and calendar 2014 deliveries gained lost on week but lost on month.
The sub-bit Indonesia's coal swap for August 2013 delivery has achieved highest price (US$ 60.37 / MT) on 2 July 2013. In the meantime, swap has reached its lowest level (US$ 59.90 / MT) on 3 July 2013.
DSP of SGX AsiaClear OTC Coal Swaps - API 8 CFR South China Coal
SGX has launched API 8 CFR South China Coal Swap on 29 April 2013 and replaced the previous swap.
API 8 CFR South China Coal shipment for average August 2013 delivery price gained US$ 0.02 per mt on day, but lost US$ 1.08 per mt on week and US$ 4.93 per MT on month on Friday, 5 July 2013.
The average August 2013, 2014 and calendar 2014 delivery swaps lost on week and month but gained in a day.
The contract for the August 2014 and calendar 2014 prices lost US$ 0.05 (0.06%) and US$ 0.60 (0.73%) per MT respectively on a week.
August 2014 delivery price closed at US$ 81.62 a ton on 5 July 2013, a US$ 0.05 lower than from a week. Calendar 2014 API 8 CFR South China Coal shipment prices lost US$ 0.60 PMT (0.73 percent) on week.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swap for average calendar 2014 delivery closed US$ 3.41 (4.40 %) higher compared to average August 2013 delivery price of US$ 77.42 on 5 July 2013. In the meantime, the August 2014 coal swap has closed US$ 4.20 PMT (5.42 %) higher than August 2013 swap for the same period.
API 8 CFR South China Coal swaps for August 2013 delivery have achieved a highest price (US$ 78.45) on 1 July 2013. In the meantime, swap has experienced a lowest level (US$ 77.40) on 4 July 2013.
