SUPRAMAX DELIVERY SOUTH CHINA FOR TRIPS VIA INDONESIA WERE REPORTED AROUND $ 7000 PER DAY - VISTAAR

COALspot.com - The last report by us was on 16th Dec 2011 and because of holidays this would be the next report updated 8th Jan 2012.
The market since then has softened quite a lot. The BDI was down by 541 points and cape was down by 1,268 points. The panamax index was down by 238 points and Supramax index was down by 81 points. The handy size index was least affected and was down only by 29 points. The markets are expected to remain soft at least until Chinese New Year Holidays and seems will pick from February onwards.
Supramax delivery South China for trips via Indonesia were reported around $ 7,000 per day. Short Period charter rates for Panamax and Supramax was around $ 12,000 per day.
Even though the charter rates have been soft, the bunker prices have been firm and touching $ 722 (for IFO 380 CST), which has been keeping the freight firm.
The average charter rates was at Cape/$ 15,477 per day , Panamax/$ 12,272 per day , Supramax/$ 11,623 per day and Handy size/$ 8,115 per day.
The Supramax index in the feast (S6 route) closed at $ 6,608 per day and S7 route closed at $ 6,795 per day . Bothe S6 and S7 route likely to remain steady next.
The futures for three years (2012-2014) was at around Cape/$ 17,000 per day, Panamax/$ 12,500 per day, Supramax/$ 12,000 per day , Handy size/$ 9,500 per day.
The congestion in EC Australia decreased to 99 vessels this week. The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/4, DBCT/19, Gladstone/18, Abbot Point/2, New Castle/54, Port Kembla/9 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was at 33 vessels.
The Brent crude oil prices closed at US$ 113.34 per barrel and bunkers prices closed at $ 722.50 pmt for IFO 380 CST ex. Singapore on 6th Jan 2012.
