S6 AND S7 ROUTES LIKELY TO BE SOFT NEXT WEEK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - The freight market seemed to be stabilizing and the BDI and Cape index was up marginally and closed at 1,423 points and 1,824 points respectively. Panamax index was almost holding same as last week and was down by 0.67 pct and closed at 1,914 points. The Supramax and handy size index was down by about 2 pct and closed at 1,319 points and 734 points respectively.
The freight market seems would be holding next week.
Supramax delivery Far east have been reported fixed around $ 12-13,000 per day for single trips. No Supramax period rate reported.
The iron ore imports by China saw slight gains and the main gain for the cape has been in the Atlantic. However the outlook for the dry bulk still seems to be grim because of oversupply of the new ships coming in the market.
The sale of second hand of ships remained fairly good and prices were holding firm , which seems that some owners are taking advantage of low prices.
The average charter rates was at Cape/$ 10,120 per day , Panamax/$ 15,344 per day , Supramax/$ 13,792 per day and Handy size/$ 11,000 per day.
The Supramax index in the feast (S6 route) was down by 6.18 pct and closed at $ 10,477 per day (last week $ 11168 per day). The EC India/China (S7 route) also softened by 10.66 pct and closed at $ 10,225 per day (last week $ 11,446 per day) , the main reason could be towards monsoon. The S6 and S7 routes likely to be soft next week.
The futures for three years (2011-2013) was at around Cape/$ 15,000 per day, Panamax/$ 14,000 per day, Supramax/$ 13,500 per day , Handy size/$ 10,500 per day.
The congestion in EC Australia increased sharply up and was at 74 vessels this week (last week 63 vessels). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/5, DBCT/15, Gladstone/15, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/34, Port Kembla/3 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting also increased to 36 vessels (last week 34 vessels).
The Brent crude oil prices softened and dropped by 4.42 pct to $ 113.26 per barrel (last week $ 118.50 per barrel). Bunker prices also softened and closed at $ 640.50 pmt (last week $ 675.00 pmt) for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 17th June 2011.
