INDIA'S CHETTINAD INTERNATIONAL COAL TERMINAL'S PERMISSIBLE DRAFT HAS INCREASED TO 13.5 M
COALspot.com - Chettinad International Coal Terminal in Ennore port has the berth with draft 13.5 Meters now, according to E-Mail statement received by COALspot.com
The statement further said, Chettinad International Coal Terminal has already handled ten vessels, including Panamax vessel with Coal and Coking coal. CICTL has achieved the highest discharge rate of 39,000 tone per day using automatic discharging systems.
CICTL is currently serving customers from industries such as Cement, Power, Coke, Steel and Trading companies. The terminal has successfully erected Automatic Wagon loading facility at it's terminal. CICTL other latest achievements was a peak evacuation of 5600 tons of coal on a single day by 240 trucks.

Chettinad group has made its mark in Logistics and Supply Chain Management through the Stevedoring, Transportation and other Supply chain Services. As a logical extension of its business into Port related services, the Group created Chettinad International Coal Terminal and set its eyes on Building Port Terminals for core products handling like Coal / Coke and thus enable the Indian EXIM Industry to be globally competitive.
In the year 2006, CICTL was awarded a Licence Agreement by Ennore Port Ltd to design, build, operate, market and transfer a Common User Coal Terminal at Ennore Port. The World Class Coal Terminal has been successfully completed with state-of- the- art equipments and conveyor systems, yard and evacuations systems with capacity to handle 8 Million tons of Coal / Coke per annum at a project outlay of about Rs.400 Crores.
The terminal can berth large ships of Panamax sizes presently and Cape size ships in near future. The terminal has unloading system of two ship un-loaders, two stacker cum reclaimers and conveyor system. This synchronized system is capable of discharging about 50000 tons in a single day from a ship.
The stock yard is situated on a 128 acres spread of land which is very scientifically built. The cargo can be evacuated by most advanced systems of automatic truck-loading and wagon loading machinery.
CICTL has helped develop transport eco-system in and around Ennore and generates direct and indirect employment. The terminal has very efficient pollution control measures and is growing green patches with in the yard itself. CICTL will be an important Supply Chain Node for the Nation and will contribute significantly to reduce the transaction cost in logistics
