FREIGHT MARKET SEEMS TO BE NERVOUS - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - The freight market continued to remain uncertain even though only cape index was down by 8.31 pct.
Overall the market seems to be nervous with futures on all segments down. It seems that next week also may continue to be soft.
The BDI was marginally up by 15 points and closed at 2,170 points, where as cape index was down sharply by 293 points and closed at 3,233 points. The Panamax and Supramax index was up by 293 points and 97 points and closed at 2,330 point and 1,486 points.
The handy size index was at same levels. The Supramax delivery N. China were reported fixed around $12,000 for trip via Indonesia to India. While short period rates on Supramax were reported fixed around $15,000 per day delivery feast and one year period was reported at around $17,000 per day.
Supramax vessels opening EC India fixed around $13,000 per day for trip to China.

The average charter hire was at Cape / $30,748 per day, Panamax / $18,721 per day, Supramax / $15,535 per day and Handy size / $11,497 per day.
The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) continued to be under pressure and was down by $660 per day (down by 4.86 pct) and closed at $12,917 per day (last week $13,577 per day). The ECI/China (S7) route also continued to be soft and was down by $146 per day (down by 1.10 pct) and closed at $12,850 per day (last week $12,996). The S6 and S7 routes may continue to be under pressure next week also.
The futures for three years (2011-2013) was at around Cape / $25,500 per day, Panamax / $18,000 per day, Supramax / $17,000 per day, Handy size / $12,500 per day.
The congestion in EC Australian ports increased sharply to 106 vessels this week (last week 66 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/6, DBCT/28, Gladstone/11, Abbot Point/2, New Castle/55, Port Kembla/2 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting also increased to 25 vessels (last week 21 vessels).
The waiting at Indian ports for coal vessels was quite normal around 3/4 days, except that the congestion at Paradip and Haldia continued to be high.
The Brent crude prices was slightly higher and closed at $85.80 (last week $84.33 per barrel ). However bunker prices softened and closed at closed at $487.00 pmt (last week $ 499 pmt) for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 26th Nov 2010.
