SUPRAMAX VESSELS BEING FIXED AROUND $ 15 K PER DAY DELIVERY N. CHINA FOR TRIP VIA INDONESIA TO INDIA - VISTAAR SHIPPING


COALspot.com: The freight market this week remained almost at same levels with not much change. However the Far East/SE Asia market was quite soft with Supramax vessels being fixed around $ 15,000 per day delivery N. China for trip via Indonesia to India. The BDI was marginally down by 1.27 pct and closed at 2727 points. The cape index was up by 0.64 pct and closed 4373 points , where as the Panamax index was down by 1.55 pct and closed at 2219 points.

The Supramax and handy size index also was slightly down and closed at 1791 points (down by 3.61 pct) and 950 points (down by 4.43 pct) respectively. The Feast /Se Asia market seems will be under pressure next week also. Iron ore imports from India to China continues to be uncertain and the charter rates for ships from India has been soft.

The average charter hire was at Cape/$ 45657 per day, Panamax/$ 17869 per day, Supramax/$ 18731 per day and Handy size/$ 13875 per day.

The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) continued to be under pressure and down by $ 383 per day and closed at us 17873 per day (last week $ 18256 per day). The  ECI/China (S7) route also continue to be soft and was down by $ 483 per day and closed at $ 15767 per day (last week 16250). The S6 and S7 routes seems will be under pressure next week also.

The futures for three years(2011-2013) was at around Cape/$ 27500 per day, Panamax/$ 20500 per day, Supramax/$ 18000 per day, Handy size/$ 13750 per day.

The congestion in EC Australian ports was slightly less to 103 vessels this week (last week 115 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/5, DBCT/41, Gladstone/10, Abbot Point/1, New Castle/45, Port Kembla/1 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was at same levels at 18 vessels (last week 30 vessels). 

The waiting at Indian ports for coal vessels was quite normal around 3/4 days, except that the congestion at Haldia continued to high.

The Brent crude prices was slightly up and closed at $ 83.25 (last week $ 82.62 per barrel ). However the bunkers prices was lightly soft and closed at $ 462.00 pmt (last week $ 468.50 pmt)  for IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 22nd Oct 2010.
