THE FUTURES FOR THREE YEARS (2010-2012) WAS AT AROUND CAPE/US$ 29000 PER DAY & PANAMAX/US$ 20500 PER DAY - VISTAAR
COALspot.com: The market continue to soften in all sectors and the most affected was cape size which was down by 16.32 pct. The BDI was down by 14.46 pct and closed at 3288 points.
“I will be interesting to see if the BDI would drop below 3000 points barrier”, said Capt. Reddy, an experienced ship operator in Singapore.
The Panamax and Supra max was also quite soft and was down by 13.33 pct and 12.08 pct respectively. The handy size index was down by 6.52 pct and closed at 1333 points. The downward trend seems to continue and seems next week also will be soft.

Spot vessels opening feast have been under pressure. However short period rates for supra max were fixed at US$ 22000 per day.
The average charter hire was at Cape/US$ 44244 per day, Panamax/US$ 27023 per day, Supramax/US$ 25201 per day and Handy size/US$ 19421 per day.
The supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) was down by US$ 3696 per day and closed at US$ 20418 per day. The ECI/China (S7) route continued to softened and was down by US$ 2911 per day and closed at US$ 21131 per day . The downward trend for S6 and S7 route is likely to continue next week also.
The futures for three years(2010-2012) was at around Cape/US$ 29000 per day, Panamax/US$ 20500 per day, Supra max/US$ 17500 per day, Handy size/US$ 14000 per day.
The congestion in EC Australian ports was at 113 vessels this week (last week 118 vessels ). The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/11, DBCT/53, Gladstone/6, Abbot Point/Nil, New Castle/42 vessels, Port Kembla/1 vessel. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting was down to 27 vessels (last week 27 vessels).
The waiting at Indian ports for coal vessels was quite normal around 3/4 days, however Paradip and Haldia was getting congested.
The Brent crude prices was up at US$ 74.72 per barrel (last week US$ 71.71 per barrel). The bunker prices was at US$ 439.50 pmt (ifo 380 cst ex Singapore) on 11th June 2010.
