KIDECO TO PRODUCE 29.5 MILLION TONS OF COAL IN 2010
 COALspot.com: Kideco to produce 29.5 million tons of coal in 2010 up 4.8 million or about 19 percent up from 2009 production. Kideco produced 24.7 mln tons of coal in 2009, said Mr. Choi Weon- Chim, Executive Vice President of Samtan Co. Ltd of Korea. 49% share holder of Kideco Jaya Agung. India Group and PT. Muji Inti Utama is holding remaining 46% and 5% shares respectively.
PT KIDECO Jaya Agung (KIDECO) explores, develops and produces coal in the Paser area in East Kalimantan. KIDECO was awarded the coal mining concession in the Paser area under a Coal Contract of Work (CCOW) executed in 1982. The concession covers a period of 30 years from March 1993 when commercial production first began.
Out of 29.5 million ton coal to be produced in 2010, about 7 million ton would be SM coal which is having lower GCV (4200 kcal/kg ( gar)) than the regular Kideco coal which is medium GCV and very low sulphur. Minable deposit of SM is around 300 million tons. Currently Kideco is expecting to supply about 4 million ton to China and 4.5 million tons to India in 2010.
Mr. Choi is expecting that, the export quantity will increase to 6 million tons to China in 2011 and 5.4 million tons to India in 2011. 25% of Kideco‘s total production is allocated or supply to Domestic market. Most of the cargo was sold out for 2010, 2011 said Mr. Choi Weon, Executive vice president.
