THE FUTURES FOR THREE YEARS (2010-2012) WAS AT AROUND PANAMAX / $ 21500 & SUPRAMAX / $ 18500 PER DAY - VISTAAR SHIPPING
COALspot.com: The BDI continued to go up and was up by 7.57 pct even though the stock markets was severely affected with worries on Greek debt crisis. All other sectors also was up with cape index up by 10.47 pct , however less than last week which was up by 21.55 pct. Panamax , Supramax and Handy size also was up by 4.15 pct. 6.37 pct and 4.13 pct respectively.
The effect of new deliveries seems not having any affect and all the vessels are being absorbed. China's iron ore and coal imports continues to be firm and the sourcing is being done from places like Indonesia ,Colombia, and Russia.
The period activity continued to be active in Cape and Panamax sectors. Capsize size vessel for short period reported fixed at around US$ 34,000 per day and Panamax vessels reported fixed for one year at US$ 27,000 per day and short period at US$ 30/32,000 per day y . Supramax Short period rates continued to be firm and were fixed at around US$ 27,000 per day and one year was seen fixed at around US$ 23,000 per day.

The average charter hire was at Cape / US$ 43,686 per day y, Panamax / US$ 32,679 per day , Supramax / US$ 30,196 per day and Handy size / US$ 20,616 per day.
The Supramax index in the Fareast (S6 route) quite firm and was by US$ 1,706 day and closed at US$ 23,345 per day. The ECI/China (S7) route also firmed up by US$ 1,873 per day and closed at US$ 31,904 per day .
The futures for three years (2010-2012) was at around Cape / US$ 30,000 per day , Panamax / US$ 21,500 per day , Supramax / US$ 18,500 per day , Handy size / US$ 14,500 per day .
The congestion in EC Australian ports reduced to 113 vessels this week (last week 123 vessels ).
The vessels waiting at main coal loading ports were at Hay point/2, DBCT/63, Gladstone/9, Abbot Point/3, New Castle/34 vessels, Pot Kembla/2 vessels. On the WC Australia iron ore vessels waiting also reduced to 19 vessels (last week 22 vessels).
The waiting at Indian ports for coal vessels was quite normal around 2/3 days except and congestion situation improved 3/4 days.
The Brent crude prices dropped this week by US$8.81 per barrel and closed at US$ 78.51 per barrel (last week US$ 87.38 per barrel). The prices of bunkers was also soft and was down at US$ 473.00 pmt (ifo 380 cst ex Singapore) on 7th May 2010.
