INDONESIAN CS COAL INDICES UP CONTINUES; POSITIVE DIRECTION
COALspot.com: Average 5000 GAR coal index of Indonesian origin up 0.10 percent week over week to averaging $38.82 per ton on this past Wednesday, according to CS (i) Coal Index. Due to holiday in Indonesia on 5 and 6 May 2016, CS (i) coal Index has published Index on 4 May 2016.
According to the CS (i) coal index, the CS 50 (5000 GAR coal) index up US$ 0.04 per ton week on week and day-over-day on 4 May 2016.
The CS 57 (5700 GAR coal) index also increased 0.15 percent week-over-week this past week. The CS 57 (5700 GAR coal) index closed US$ 47.85 a ton on 4 May 2016, US$ 0.74 per ton lesser than US$ 48.21 a ton closed on 8 April 2016.
The CS (i) Coal index is the newly established price reference for Indonesian coal. CS (i) Coal Index, contains independent, real-time price assessments. The Indices are based on the inputs provided by CS (i) coal index panelists on the real-time basis during Indonesian office hours.
COALspot.com is publishing CS (i) Coal Index for 3800, 4200, 5000 and 5700 kcal/kg GAR coal of Indonesian Origin. A set of these four indices developed by COALspot.com is intended to help the industry to monitor the trend of coal prices on the real-time basis and act as a market forecaster for active coal producers, traders and end-users.
The CS 42 (4200 GAR) index closed at US$ 27.25 per ton on 6 May 2016, US$ 0.02 higher compared to 29 April 2016 closing.
CS 38 Index which is representing 3800 GAR coal of Indonesian origin was closed at US$ 20.78 per ton on 4 May 2016. CS 38 Index was flat week over week and day over day.
According to past CS (i) coal index records, the CS 38 index sheds at least 27.31% year over year or since 8 May 2015 to date (4 May 2016). While the CS 42 and CS 50 indices fell around 21.98% and 17.99% respectively since 8 May 2015 to date (4 May 2016). CS 57 index was slipped 15.99% year on year (since 8 May 2015).
CS 38 - TM 40%, Ash 5% Max, Sulphur 0.4% Max and Calorific Value (GAR) 3,800 Kcal/kg
CS 42 - TM 35%, Ash 6% Max, Sulphur 0.8% Max and Calorific Value (GAR) 4,200Kcal/kg
CS 50 - TM 26%, Ash 7% Max, Sulphur 0.8% Max and Calorific Value (GAR) 5,000 Kcal/kg
CS 57 - TM 18%, Ash 12% Max, Sulphur 1.0% Max and Calorific Value (GAR) 5,700 Kcal/kg
