S7 AND S8 ROUTES ARE EXPECTED TO BE STEADY NEXT WEEK - VISTAAR
 COALspot.com - This week freight movement was fairly firm with news of China is rebuilding iron ore stockpiles, and ease import rules. Cape and Panamax indices show positive and were up by about 13 pct.
The BDI was also up by 10.84 pct closed at 900 points. The Cape Size index saw a firm direction as it was by 13.68 pct closed at 1,537 points and the Panamax after being soft for last few weeks saw some firmness with the index up by 12.43 pct closing at 859 points.
The Supramax and handy size were up slightly closing at 900 points (up by 1.24 pct) and 533 points (up by 1.72 pct).
The iron ore imports into China and the Coal cargoes has also been keeping the Panamax and Supramax charter rates fairly firm/steady. The average charter rate was at Cape/US$ 7,627 per day , Panamax/US$ 6,845 per day , Supramax/US$ 9,408 per day and Handy size/US$ 7,853 per day.
The futures for three years (2013-2015) was at around Cape/US$ 14,000 per day, Panamax/US$ 10,000 per day, Supramax/US$ 10,000 per day and Handy size/US$ 9,000 per day.
The supramax index in the far east (S8 route) was slightly up by 0.48 pct closed at US$ 8,210 per day (last week it was at US$ 8,170 per day) . The route S7 was at same levels closing at US$ 7,875 per day (Last week US$ 7875 per day) . However, the freight market trend in this sector is expected to be steady next week.
The Brent crude oil price was up by 1.31 pct closing at US$ 105.96 per barrel (last week US$ 104.56 per barrel). The bunker price was at same levels and closed at US$ 607.50 pmt (IFO 380 cst ex Singapore on 14th June 2013).
