COALspot.com - Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swaps and CFR South China coal contracts for July deliveries seems to be under pressure this week.
SGX’s Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swaps drops 5.98 percent and CFR South China coal contracts for July deliveries drops 3.62 percent on W-o-W.
According to DSP of SGX AsiaClear OTC coal swaps, Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swaps for July 2012 deliveries closed at US$ 62.03 / MT on 15 June 2012 (Friday), 8pm SG Time compared to Monday opening of US$ 65.98/ MT. In the meantime, CFR South China coal contracts closed at US$ 86.50 on Friday instead of US$ 89.75 on Monday opening.
The July 2012 swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was opened on Monday at US$ 65.98 / MT and closed on Friday at US$ 62.03 / MT declined US$ 3.95 (-5.98 percent W-o-W) , according to SGX AsiaClear OTC Coal Swaps.
CFR South China Coal contracts fell US$ 3.25 (-3.62 percent W-o-W) to US$ 86.50 per mt for the same period.
A commodity swap is a financial agreement whereby a floating, or spot, price is exchanged for a fixed rate over a specified contract period.
The Q4 swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was also dropped US$ 2.86 / MT to US$ 63.48 a metric ton on Friday from US$ 66.34 on Monday opening. CFR South China Coal contract declined US$ 2.63 (-2.87 percent) per mt to US$ 89.00 compared to Monday opening of US$ 91.63, according to data released by SGX.
Indonesian sub-bituminous coal swap for July deliveries drops 14.95 percent M-o-M and the meantime CFR South China coal contracts for July deliveries dropped 10.71 percent M-o-M.
The Q4 swap contract for Indonesia sub-bituminous coal was also dropped 14.67 percent M-o-M and CFR South China coal contracts dropped 9.72 percent M-o-M.
