TAIPOWER TO BUY 1.15 MILLION TONS OF 5000 GAR COAL


COALspot.com - Taiwan Power Company intends to procure 1.125million tons of sub-bituminous coal for Taipower thermal power plant through open tender. According to tender, the bidders can obtain the bidding document  from April 25, 2012 to May 4, 2012 on company's website.  Bidders are required to submit the bids on or before May 4, 2012 5:00 p.m  (Taipei Time).

1.125 million tons of sub-bituminous coal required to deliver by 15 Panamax size vessels (75,000 +/- 10%) during June 2012 through October 2012.

As per tender, the Gross Calorific Value of coal should not lesser than 5,000 kcal/kg on arb basis, total moisture (arb) 28% max, Ash Content (adb)  15% max and total Sulphur (adb)  not  more than 1.1%. Meantime, Na2O in Ash (%) should not more than 2%, however If both actual (a) CaO+MgO>Fe2O3, and actual (b) CaO+MgO+Fe2O3 >20% are met, then Na2O in Ash can be raised to 5.0% Max.

The company’s business divisions are: the headquarters, which is in charge of the business related to planning, supervision and evaluation; and the subsidiary units, which are in charge of the business related more to implementation. In addition, committees were established to coordinate the business that involves multiple units.
