Saturday, 31 July 10 TABONEO ANCHORAGE TO LOAD 1.5 MLN TON OR MORE COAL IN H1 AUGUST
COALspot.com: Eighty five ocean going vessels and barges have been nominated by coal buyers to their respective suppliers in Indonesia to load about around 4.8 million tons of coal or more for the period 1 – 10 August 2010.
According to shipping service companies in Kalimantan, Taboneo anchorage, which is located south Kalimantan would load more vessels than all the coal loading ports in Indonesia for first half of next month.
Around 1.4 – 1.5 mln tons of coal will be expected to load in Taboneo anchorage H1 August 2010. Samarinda anchorage, which is located in East Kalimantan will load about 0.80 mln tons or little higher.
“All the vessels have already nominated to respective suppliers, and some more vessels nominations are expecting by early next week”, said shipping agents in Kalimantan. Out of 4.8 million ton of coal to be loaded, 600 – 700 K MT ton coal is expecting for Chinese ports and 550 – 650 K MT of coal Indian ports, according to the coal vessel line up reports, released by the shipping agent.
It’s seem that, the rains in Kalimantan haven't affected much on vessel moments in and out of Kalimantan water for coal loading except few companies have declared force majeure or postponing vessels acceptance for loading.
We see potential for stable Indonesian coal prices in coming months instead of dropping of International Coal prices, due to slow down in coal production because of unusual rain in major coal producing areas, upcoming holy fasting month and strengthening of Indonesian Rupiah.(cs)
